PHIL Campbell’s Bastard Sons will perform two tribute shows in August and September in honour of their late band leader – and father.

Motorhead guitarist Campbell died on March 13, aged 64, from post-surgery complications. His band consists of his sons, Todd, Dane and Tyla. There are conflicting reports as to whether Julian Jenkins or Joel Peters will be singer for the upcoming shows.

They are to be held firstly at Chepstow Castle on August 22 as part of a wider festival featuring the likes of Chris Holmes and Tygers Of Pan Tang, and secondly at HMV Empire at Coventry on September 5.

In a written statement attributed to all three sons, the band – whose name has been tweaked from “Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons” to “Phil Campbell’s Bastard Sons” – said: “We originally had a number of live performances planned for 2026 and many of you have been wondering whether the band would continue without our dad.

“While everything is still extremely raw for us right now, we’re pleased to confirm that we will be going ahead with two very special shows. We’ll be headlining Chepstow Castle on August 22nd and Hella Rock Festival on September 5th.

“These shows will be dedicated as memorial concerts to celebrate the life of our dad, and it would mean a lot to us to see as many of you there as possible.

“We’ll also have more shows to announce very soon.”

Other acts on board for the Coventry show are: Tailgunner, King Kraken, Silveroller, Hell’s Addiction, and Beth Blade And The Beautiful Disasters.

Promoter James Pilling was quoted as saying: “We knew straight away this year had to mean more. Losing Phil Campbell hit the whole rock community hard, and we have worked closely with his family to make sure this is done right.”
