AUSTRALIA’s original rock outsiders Radio Birdman are celebrating their 50th year in 2024.

Formed in Sydney as the country’s pub rock phenomenon was just beginning to emerge, but remaining staunchly outside it with a sound and style rooted in sixties Detroit garage rock, Radio Birdman built an entire scene around themselves, a fiercely independent rock and roll force that persists to this day.

To celebrate their 50th anniversary, Radio Birdman has announced their 5-0 Birdman! mid-year tour, and to further mark the occasion, their live release Live at Paddington Town Hall, 12th December 1977 will be reissued.

Tickets are through Oztix now. (Brisbane via Moshtix.)
