WHEN the official OzzFest Twitter account posts “will Ozzfest return in 2o27?” it’s hard to imagine it issuing a denial of its own scurrilous rumours.
And so we can pretty much assume that the festival dedicated to the late Ozzy Osbourne, last held in 2018, will be back in North America next year with Sharon Osbourne also strongly suggesting this will be the case.
The likes of Korn, Black Label Society, In Flames and Biohazard all responded positively to the unsubtle social media posts, by the way
Sharon Osbourne – meanwhile – told Billboard: “I’ve been talking to Live Nation about bringing [Ozzfest] back recently.
“It was something Ozzy was very passionate about: giving young talent a stage in front of a lot of people. We really started metal festivals in this country. It was [replicated but] never done with the spirit of what ours was, because ours was a place for new talent. It was like summer camp for kids.”
She said she might “mix up genres” for the festival’s return.
OzzFest was created in 1996 by Sharon Osbourne but was not considered a success until the turn of the century. It visited Japan twice but never made it to Australia.
