LYNCH Mob, the band formed by vituoso guitarist George Lynch in 1989, played what he insists was its last-ever show at the weekend.
With 70-year-old Lynch the only constant member over those three and a half decades, the group recently played the Monsters Of Rock cruise and then rolled up to the Medina Entertainment Center in Medina, Minnesota for their bow.
“Well, last night was our last show as Lynch Mob,” the former Dokken guitarist wrote in a statement.
“We played Medina Entertainment Center in Minnesota, which we’ve played many, many times. It was a wonderful sold-out show, and everyone in the house was aware of the gravity and finality of the performance. With the help of my old friend Brian Tichy on drums, the band stepped up and bared our souls for one last performance.
“I’m going to miss my brothers in arms deeply. My band has always been a second family to me, and there’s a bond there that transcends time and space.
“I feel it’s fitting to turn the page on this chapter of my musical journey after 35 years of Lynch Mob. I wish the best for Gabriel, Jimmy, and Jaron moving forward, and I look forward to whatever the universe holds in store for me.”
The final line-up of Lynch Mob was Lynch, drummer Jimmy D’Anda, singer Gabriel Colon and bassist Jaron Gulino.
