FASTER Pussycat remain on the bill for the Monsters Of Rock Cruise departing Monday despite singer Taime Downe’s fiance falling overboard last week.
Kimberley Burch, 56, is missing presumed dead after falling into the ocean during the Eighties Cruise last Monday. The ship, Royal Caribbean’s Explorer Of The Seas, returned to port after searching for Burch, with Coast Guard taking over the mission.
The incident occurred 80 miles from Miami, at around 11pm local time. Faster Pussycat reportedly performed their second set of the cruise without Downe, 60.
The famed Sunset Strip glamsters are due to back up next week on the Monsters Of Rock Cruise, where they would be joined by Aussie heroes Rose Tattoo and Sisters Doll. So far, they remain on the bill with the cruise making no announcement on changes.
Burch’s sister-in-law Kellie Burch says Downe called his partner’s mum to tell her of the tragedy.
But Kellie Burch says no-one else in the family has been able to find out anything about the incident, adding that Kimberley had been drinking at the time she fell overboard and that this was “out of character”.
“We just want to know what happened,” Kellie told the Daily Mail.
“All we want is answers. We’ve had absolutely zero contact with the cruise company. We’ve emailed, we’ve called, and nobody has gotten back to us.
“She was the life of the party and the light of the room.
“I last heard from her about a week ago […] she was looking forward to the trip.
“We are doing as well as we possibly can be while we wait.”
