CRADLE of Filth guitarist Marek “Ashok” Šmerda has learned the hard way not to air his dirty laundry in public.

Last week, his wife Zoe Marie Federoff announced her departure from the band for unspecified personal reasons.

In the days since, fans took to social media with allegations of marital affairs involving either or both of them.

Attempting to lay the rumours to rest, Ashok, who has been with Cradle since 2014, took to social platforms to clear the air.  Citing both financial and health reasons – as a couple – and artistic differences, including his dissatisfaction with a recent collaboration with Ed Sheeran, for the split, he nonetheless promised he would complete the band’s current tour.

Within hours of the post, mercurial band leader Dani Filth, who has seen over 30 members come and go, announced Ashok’s immediate firing from Cradle of Filth.

The band’s tour will continue with Kelsey Peters in place of Federoff and an undisclosed replacement for Ashok.
