THE provocative and often controversial singer and frontman of Amen, Casey Chaos, has died at 59.
Brian Perera of Cleopatra Records announced the passing of Chaos in a post on Instagram this morning Australian time.
Casey Chaos, born Karim Chmielinski in New York in 1965, had a musical career spanning almost 40 years across hardcore, punk and metal. He was best known as the main protagonist and only constant member of Amen, a band originally formed in 1994 and went on to become prominent in the nu-metal/alternative metal scene of the late 90s-mid 00s. He also featured in Christian Death and formed bands like Scum with members of Emperor and Turbonegro, and the aborted project Headband with Twiggy Ramirez.
No further details about his death have yet been revealed.
