FRONTMAN Bret Michaels has denied demanding six times what his Poison band-mates would receive for a 40th anniversary tour this year.
The claim was made by drummer Rikki Rockett who has decided – in the absence of such a tour – to play 1986 debut Look What The Cat Dragged in in its entirety with his side band Rockett Mafia.
“Well, I’m gonna answer that honestly. It never happened. We never got to that part of negotiations,” he told New Haven radio station 99.1 PLR.
“We’re all friends. And if you wanna discuss something, we have each other’s phone number for the last 45 years. Just call me. No offence. I love Rikki. I love Bobby [Dall, bassist]. I love CC [DeVille, guitarist].
“Don’t negotiate on the air [during an interview]. Just call me on the phone, and we’ll work out what (ever). We’ve worked it out for 40 other years. Let’s work out what we need to work out.
“That never came up on the table. What comes up on the table is, what’s people making solo? What are we doing? You throw it out there. And it’s not their fault either. It never finished, the negotiations, on everything.
“…I appreciate CC and Bobby staying out in the middle. They didn’t make any comments. I truly believe, ’cause we already knew last summer it was moving to ’27.”
Poison’s 2027 tour would be called 40 plus one, Michaels said.
