SIX weeks out from The Smashing Pumpkins’ massive The World is a Vampire Festival, major changes have been made, with shows cancelled and others added.
Due to a new environment policy enacted by Mornington Council in early February that would allow them to cancel any events at short notice for wet weather reasons, the Hastings Foreshore event has been cancelled, with tickets for that event now valid for the Port Melbourne show (April 22) or the Ballarat one (April 23). A second Port Melbourne show has now been announced.
Additionally, both the proposed Wollongong and Penrith events have been cancelled for reasons out of the promoter’s control. Those tickets are now valid for a new Sydney show on April 19 – emails will be sent to all ticket holders. Due to this new date in Sydney, the Newcastle show has been rescheduled to April 29.
The promoters can be contacted for enquiries on [email protected].Â
The World is a Vampire festival is curated by The Smashing Pumpkins on the 30th anniversary of their Siamese Dream album and also includes Jane’s Addiction, Amyl & the Sniffers, RedHook, Battlesnake and pro wrestling with the NWO vs. WAOA.
