WITH rapid-fire tour announcements happening again, it’s can be difficult to stay abreast of them all, so we’re going to do our best to collect some of them here.

Currently touring Australia with Pearl Jam, the Pixies will be back with a tour of their own in November next year. The band will play a two-night residency in each city, performing Bossa Nova and Trompe le Monde on the first night, then a varied set list the following evening. Tickets go on sale from November 26

The punk invasion continues with a dual headliner from SoCal legends Pennywise and Swedish hellraisers Millencollin on a big extended tour in February and March. Tickets are available from 22 November.

In updated touring news, in the fallout from the on-tour altercation between CKY and Alien Ant Farm, the former has been dropped from all touring with Alien Ant Farm and replaced on the Australian tour by the mighty Drowning Pool. Tickets are still available.

Author Brian Giffin

Brian Giffin is a metalhead, author, writer and broadcaster from the Blue Mountains in Australia. His life was changed forever after seeing a TV ad for 'The Number of the Beast' in 1982. During the 90s he wrote columns and reviews for Sydney publications On the Street, Rebel Razor, Loudmouth and Utopia Records' magazine. He was the creator and editor of the zine LOUD! which ran from 1996 until 2008, and of Loud Online that lasted from 2010 until 2023 when it unexpectedly spontaneously combusted into virtual ashes. His weekly community radio show The Annex has been going since 2003 on rbm.org.au. He enjoys heavy rock and most kinds of metal (except maybe symphonic power metal), whisk(e)y and beer.
