MELBOURNE punk mischief-makers the Meanies are bringing back split singles – and bringing back, well, themselves.
For young readers, split singles were a concept where bands could save the money on pressing vinyl by teaming up with another band to put a song on each side. The veteran campaigners are combining with young Queensland outfit Dad Fight to do just that in 2026.
The Meanies “Blacklist” with be backed with (that’s old record talk, ‘backed with’) Dad Fight’s “Reality Check”.
As for the tour dates, Dad Fight are joining their older compatriots on them too – starting in St Kilda on June 6 and rolling right through to Lismore on October 4,
The trek also includes the Meanies’ first WA dates in three years.
Formed in 1988, the Meanies have still only done four studio albums in all that time! The last was in 2020 – the year Dad Fight were formed.
