WHILE we await the list of Good Things sideshows sure to accompany that festival, plenty of acts touring with Froth & Fury next year have announced shows around the festivals, as this latest touring update reveals.

Prog metal fans rejoice! The world’s foremost exponents of the form are bringing their 40th anniversary celebration to Australia in February. Dream Theater has announced four huge shows with tickets on sale from September 10.

FEBRUARY 10: Hindley Street Music Hall, Adelaide
FEBRUARY 12: Margaret Court Arena, Melbourne
FEBRUARY 14: ICC, Sydney
FEBRUARY 15: Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane

Tying in with his appearances at Froth and Fury, Norwegian black metal legend Abbath Doom Occulta is touring his Return to the Raven Realms show alongside Melbourne brutalists Werewolves and Sydney black thrashers Bastardizer in January.

It’s a long way off but Pennsylvania metalcore upstarts Motionless in White will be Down Under in June next year for three headliners. Tickets go on sale on September 4 for the tour with Make Them Suffer and Currents.

JUNE 28: Riverstage, Brisbane

Also working their way around to other capitals during their Froth and Fury visit will be death metal maestros Archspire and Aborted. Along with F&F alumni Organectomy, they’ll be doing four shows on the east coast.

Max Cavalera will be stepping up twice for this tour, when Soulfly and Nailbomb fill in the space between Froth & Fury shows with dates in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Snot will also be a part of the action.

Thornhill will undertake their biggest headlining tour to date when they hit the road in February on the five-date Bodies tour. With Amira Elfeky from the US, Japan’s Paledusk and Melbournites Heavensgate tagging along, tickets are available now.

Brian Giffin is a metalhead, author, writer and broadcaster from the Blue Mountains in Australia. His life was changed forever after seeing a TV ad for 'The Number of the Beast' in 1982. During the 90s he wrote columns and reviews for Sydney publications On the Street, Rebel Razor, Loudmouth and Utopia Records' magazine. He was the creator and editor of the zine LOUD! which ran from 1996 until 2008, and of Loud Online that lasted from 2010 until 2023 when it unexpectedly spontaneously combusted into virtual ashes. His weekly community radio show The Annex has been going since 2003 on rbm.org.au. He enjoys heavy rock and most kinds of metal (except maybe symphonic power metal), whisk(e)y and beer.
