NATIONAL treasures Cold Chisel say someone stole footage of the most famous time they played under a circus tent – and they want it back.

Jimmy Barnes, Ian Moss, Don Walker, Phil Small and Charley Drayton have enjoyed blanket media coverage over the past 48 hours after announcing a 50th anniversary tour which will start in Armidale on October 5 and conclude in Adelaide on November 13.

Three shows, in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, will be played under a 10,000-capacity big top. This is a nod to the Circus Animals shows in Sydney in 1982.

Singer Barnes tells Channel 10: “I think I might have been singing ‘Wild Thing’ while hanging on a trapeze under a high wire, strapped to a motorbike, swinging over the audience, drinking a bottle of vodka”

But keyboardist Don Walker admits you’ll just have to take the word of those who saw it at this point because “the whole thing was filmed but a lot of it has been difficult to locate.”

Barnes interjected: “I think somebody swiped it.

“You know who you are. You’ve got our film. Bring it back. We want to see it. We can’t remember the show.”

When host Waleed Aly asked if there was a reward for the return of the film, Barnes answered: “Yes, I’ll let you live.”
