RUNAWAYS member Cherie Currie has used a picture of herself dressed up as David Bowie in the 1970s to speak out against gender reassignment for minors.
Addressing one the hottest topics of society today, 64-year-old Currie says wanting to be a male was just a phase she went through when she was younger and should be treated that way today.
“Misgender this!” Currie wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Misgender this! A few years before this pic I was so into Bowie I wanted to BE HIM. Dressed like him, swung like him. I was CONFUSED about my ‘gender’. It was a PHASE. Today, it would be male hormones, cut off my breasts, destroy my life. Love them enough to WAIT. Please. 🙏❤️ pic.twitter.com/pa6SIQTBDF

“Joan does not support children transitioning. Sorry to break it to you,” Currie commented.
Currie was the lead singer of the Runaways, a pioneering all-girl rock band which also included future solo stars Jett and Lita Ford. She is a recording artist and actress.
