THE music press has been alive today with the suggestion that Metallica will finally return to Australian shores in 2025.

Just before the band announced further North American dates on their ongoing 72 Seasons tour, concert juggernaut Live Nation posted a teaser to socials, pressing Metallica’s Aussie fans to “sign up to be the first to know.” Metallica’s website also contains a promise that they will finally come back to Australia.

Metallica hasn’t played in Australia since the Soundwave festival in 2013. While we wouldn’t even begin to speculate on how much a ticket to what will likely be a gargantuan show might cost, it’s likely (given the promoter) that dynamic pricing will play a role, so start counting your pennies, ‘Tallica fans!
