VICTORIAN rockers Massive have announced the death of bassist Aidan McGarrigle. He was 33.

Massive announced McGarrigle’s passing on their social media accounts on Wednesday and invited friends and fans to view the popular musician’s funeral via a livestream this Friday.

No cause of death was given.

“2doggs joined the band in 2013, he was the life of every party, in every city we went to,” the band wrote.

“He was a damn fine musician and a friend. We shared some wild journeys together. Memories that will never fade.”

Friend of the band Sarah Telford payed tribute to McGarrigle on Facebook, saying: “I can still remember all the boys flying down my stairs in Sydney after playing many shows at Frankie’s and needing somewhere to crash before getting back on the road.

“And Aidan was always the one who ended up at the bottom of stairs .. Mmm ‘Mr Medwin’ .

“These boys were like a true family of brothers and so beautiful to watch.”

The band Devil Electric described McGarrigle as a new member in its own Facebook post.

It had wished him happy birthday in July on the same page.
