BEFORE they were The Cult, English vocalist Ian Astbury was in Southern Death Cult and then, after Astbury met guitarist Billy Duffy, the outfit became Death Cult.

Now the duo has announced a tour focusing on that period of their careers, which spanned from 1981 to 1984.

A run through the UK and Ireland following a Los Angeles kick-off on October 23 will take in many of the same venues they played at in 1983 as Death Cult, on the back of two EPs.

Early Cult albums Love and Dreamtime will also be featured in setlists for the tour, which will be called Death Cult 8323.

Aside from Astbury and Duffy, the band’s lineup is so far unknown.
