FOR some of you – the younger ones – this is just another music site.

But for a large portion of our readership, the website will always be in the shade of the legendary print magazine of the late eighties and early nineties.

And that’s OK by us – we like it here in the shade, sinking a few tinnies and having a laugh.

Reader Neil Boland contacted us yesterday via Instagram with some cool nostalgia.

Melbourne muso Neil is currently binging every episode of beloved Australian drama A Country Practice, which ran from 1981 to 1994.

When he got to season 10, a character called Julian ‘Luke’ Ross (pretty advanced for 1990, character with an alias) showed up, in town from Sydney.

He was a ‘sketchy’ city slicker and when he sat down on the couch, he pulled out a copy of your favourite magazine to read! Nikki Sixx on the cover!

Thanks for contacting us, Neil. #makemetalhotagain
