THE Supersuckers, formerly with Sub Pop and Acetate Records, have a new label.
“We just signed a new record contract, for the first time in years and years, with a label called Hard Charger,” frontman Eddie Spaghetti tells Hot Metal.
“It’s a little thing out of the States. It’s an imprint by a friend of ours’ called Jesse Dayton. He’s a Texas artist and (has) just been a great friend of the band.
“He’s a little bit entrepreneurial, I suppose … he decided to talk the powers that be into signing the Supersuckers.
“So now we did that – and we just wait for the disappointment to ensue.”
The new album, as yet un-named, is ready to go but is waiting to be mixed. It will be the first since 2020’s Play That Rock’n’Roll.
“We’re so excited about the songs, we’re going to play some of them live,” said Spaghetti. “I tend to have a policy against playing songs that people aren’t familiar with live because it’s usually such a low in the show.
“But the songs are so good that everybody seems to love ’em so that’s a testimony to the songwriting power in the band.”
