RYAN SIEW of rising Sydney metalcore heroes Polaris has died.

News of his passing was shared by the band this morning. The 26-year-old guitarist died on June 19 following serious health issues which had forced him to step down from the band’s current world tour, for which he was being replaced by Jesse Crofts of Windwaker.

Siew joined the band as a 15-year-old and appeared on all the band’s recordings to date. Polaris has cancelled all remaining European tour dates.

Brian Giffin is a metalhead, author, writer and broadcaster from the Blue Mountains in Australia. His life was changed forever after seeing a TV ad for 'The Number of the Beast' in 1982.
