VETERAN Seattle progressive metallers Queensryche have disavowed a song that appears on their own Spotify profile.

The bizarre episode began when a fan on Twitter, identifying him or herself as “Betrayal”, wrote above a screen capture of “Silent Lucidity (2023 remix Acapella) “are you F serious? I think its better to take a nap or take the Day off, instead making something like this”.

The band retweeted the comment, adding: “We had nothing to do with this, no idea where it came from, but it’s NOT us.”

A listen to the five-track collection of remixes reveals various versions of the 1991 hit, including vocals-only, instrumental only, sped up and slowed down.

Fan Joe Sterling commented: “I listened to the Silent Lucidity remixes. Thank you so much.

“The Alvin and the Chipmunks Remix and the Slow-Motion Stoner Remix were exquisitely delightful.

“I ain’t laughed that hard since my Uncle Wilbur won the calf fry eating contest and then puked on Aunt Bertha right after.”

The remixes are credited to “@2023 Cleopatra Records”
