I CAUGHT up with Tim White, drummer for the fantastic Melbourne band Eat The Damn Orange, who have one of rock’s finest female singers, the very cool Tash Vargas.
Hot Metal: Give us a quick rundown about Eat The Damn Orange.
Tim White: “The premier citrus-related band going around. Eat The Damn Orange bring their brand of eclectic riot rock to the stages of Australia. After releasing their debut album Taking the Pith in 2021, the group will be working on new material, getting ready for album number two in the near future.”
HM: What bands have you guys supported? Any highlights?
TW: “I think the highlight show for me was the album launch at the Workers Club. (It) felt like an exclamation point on a year-long journey.
HM: If Eat The Damn Orange was an alcoholic drink what would be in it?
TW: “Basically a Carona Sunrise but with Carlton Draught and Jameson.”
HM: What’s one piece of merchandise you would love to have out?
TW: “Orange peeler.”
HM: If you had to choose … AFL, NRL or soccer?
TW: “AFL”.
HM: Put your dream band together. Anyone from any era dead or alive, who would be in it?
TW: “Kerry King – Slayer (guitar), Eloy Casagrande – Sepultura (drums), Steve DiGiorgio – Sadus, DEATH, Testament…(bass), Brent Hinds – Mastodon (guitar), Corey Taylor – Slipknot, Stone Sour (vocals).”
HM: What’s coming up in 2023 for Eat The Damn Orange?
TW: “New music, and hopefully a private jet.”
