A LEADING Aussie promoter says fans in Brisbane don’t support classic and hard rock in sufficient numbers.

Silverback Touring has posted a missive on its Facebook page saying that when it comes to hard rock shows in BrisVegas, “the numbers tell a story we don’t love telling”. It pleads with Cane Toad rockers to “drag your mates off the couch and get them to the show’, in reference to upcoming concerts by the likes of Trixter and H.E.A.T.

“Brisbane. We love you. We really do,” the post begins.

“But we need to have a little chat. 👀 We’ve been routing our tours through Brisbane for years. Every time. Without fail.

We show up for you – coming up: Trixter, H.E.A.T, Eclipse, the real deal acts that hard rock and classic rock fans have been waiting to see live. And every time… the numbers tell a story we don’t love telling.”
Silverback then concedes some Brisbane shows are at inconvenient times of the week and there is an apology for cancelling GlamFest 2024 there,
“We are genuinely, sincerely sorry about that,” the post continues.  “That one hurt us too. It was not a decision we made lightly and it’s not something we ever want to repeat.”
In response to comments on the post, Silverback continues: “It’s a conversation rooted in years of real touring data showing a consistent trend of Brisbane underindexing against Sydney and Melbourne when it comes to hard rock and classic rock.
“We’re not here to point fingers, we’re here because we still believe Brisbane does have an army of hard rock fans who love the genre across the board.”
