THE original Catman is back with Peter Criss to release his first solo album in 18 years.
The former KISS drummer, 79, has tapped Motley Crue guitarist John 5, Mr Big bassist Billy Sheehan and the Tonight Show‘s Paul Schaffer for the as-yet-un-named opus, which will follow up 2017’s One For All.
Criss – who retired from live performances in 2017 and toured with Australia’s Sisters Doll as his backing band – made the revelation on the KISS FAQ podcast.
“I have an announcement,” Criss told the show. “I have my new rock and roll album to [share with] you KISS Army guys coming out in the fall, and I really hope you like it, man. And I wanna say God bless to each and every one of you.”
Barry Pointer is the producer.
Criss had three stints with KISS: from 1973 to 1980, 1996 to 2001 and 2002–2004.
He was presented with the Legacy Award by the Raven Drum Foundation at The Cutting Room in New York on April 24; this is a charity for first responders in the emergency services. He performed at the presentation.
