FOLLOWING weeks of conjecture and speculation, it would seem that the Pandemonium Rocks festival is still going ahead, albeit in a less expansive format.

While the promoter continues to remain silent, Alice Cooper has posted the following update this morning on social media:

“Despite the recent press reports that [the festival] will be cancelled, we – Alice Cooper and Blondie – have worked closely together over the past several weeks to make it happen.”

The statement goes on to announce that the line-up has now been pared down to Alice Cooper, Blondie, Psychedelic Furs, Wheatus, Wolfmother, Palaye Royale and Cosmic Psychos, on a single stage event. It further notes that the Gold Coast event has been moved to Broadwater Parklands and the Sunny Coast show is now at Brisbane’s Eatons Hill Hotel. The separate Newcastle shows are now being combined into one indoor event.

So, no Deep Purple, Placebo, Gang of Four or Dead Kennedys (who publicly withdrew from the event via social media on Tuesday),and new venues for some of the shows.

Note this is a statement from Alice Cooper, not the festival promoter.
