AUSSIE rockers Palace of the King have unleashed their fourth album, Friends In Low Places.

Band leader Tim Henwood has been drip-feeding singles with intriguing videos such as “Hang Tough”, “Run For Your Money” and “Tear It Down” and now they have been assembled in a hard-hitting long player.

Henwood explained the approach on HM’s White Line Fever podcast, saying: “All through COVID we were putting singles out.

“It was a weird time. We couldn’t tour. We wanted to get back to Europe and the UK obviously and we couldn’t go anywhere.

“I thought ‘every eight weeks, let’s put a song out’ because ultimately I thought if you put the album out, you get a bit of activity around it, you get people interested around it for a couple of weeks, maybe a few weeks.

“Then it gets forgotten about and everyone starts saying ‘when’s the next album coming’ whereas this way … by the time everyone starts forgetting about the song again, we’ll have another one out.”

The album was produced by Tim Henwood and mixed by Ricki Rae on most, but not all, tracks.
