BRIAN Montana, an original member of metal pioneers Possessed, has been killed after an armed stand off with police.

Officers in San Francisco responded to Montana’s address following a report he had shot into his neighbour’s property When police arrived, Montana’s, 60, opened fire on them. After a brief exchange, he was shot and died at the scene.

Montana performed on Possessed’s 1984 demo “Death Metal” before being replaced by Larry Lalonde. He went on to form a band called Abnormal, about whom little is known.
