A NEW book on Bon Scott by Australian author Jesse Fink has been released to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the larrikin icon’s first show with AC/DC.
Fink, the author of The Youngs: The Brothers Who Built AC/DC and Last Highway, has produced what he describes as the final book in the trilogry, Bon: Notes From The Highway.
It was released on October 5, the golden anniversary of Scott fronting Ackadacka for the first time, at the Masonic Hall in Brightin-le-Sands Sydney.
“It’s a collection of material not contained in the original (Last Highway) book and explores in greater detail the most significant relationship Bon had with a woman during his life: Silver Smith.
“Fink’s full interviews with Silver are published for the first and only time.
“Fink also has a heated encounter with Peter Perrett of The Only Ones and discovers important new information about Perrett’s late friend, Alistair Kinnear, and Kinnear’s involvement in what happened to Bon on the night he died.
“It draws a riveting close to the pioneering investigation Fink has led into Bon’s death, confirming his original findings: that Bon died from combining alcohol and heroin.”
