MOTLEY Crue have announced the title of their first song since the departure of Mick Mars – and starred in an off-beat video which introduces a new record company for the band.
“Dogs Of War” is the name of the new single which will come out on this Friday, April 26. It is one of three songs recorded with new guitarist John 5 and producer Bob Rock, with one of the others being a cover of the Beastie Boys’ “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right”.
Meanwhile, a video “The Search For Motley Crue” was posted on the band’s YouTube channel.
It depicted Big Machine Records head Scott Borchetta travelling from the label’s Nashville base to Los Angeles to sign bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee to the recording contract before returning the Tennessee to “track down” vocalist Vince Neil.
Intentional or not, there is a reference to the estranged guitarist Mars when Neil asks Borchetta “anyone else have to sign it ?” and the businessman answers “just you brother”.
