OG Sydney thrashers and early Hot Metal champions Mortal Sin are returning to the fray once again next year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their debut album.

The band, which has reformed and split on myriad occasions since the 1980s, will reconvene with 80 percent of their last recording line-up to tour in celebration of Mayhemic Destruction, their demo-turned-debut-album that catapulted them around the world.

The reformation will feature original singer Mat Maurer and bassist Andy Eftichou with guitarists Ryan Huthnance and Nathan Shea, who both appeared on 2011’s Psychology of Death, and Bastardizer/LiveWire drummer George Delinicolis.

The band has already confirmed an appearance at Germany’s Keep it True festival in April.
