IT can’t be a coincidence that a series of somewhat elaborate videos emerged over the past 48 hours with the sound from the in-ear monitors of Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars during a concert last year.

After all, the 71-year-old guitarist is suing his bandmates for trying to kick him out of their business because he is unable to tour due to a degenerative illness.

And the Sunset Strip darlings’ global fanbase has been split with Motley’s social media accounts ruthlessly blocking anyone who vows loyalty to what has become know as ‘Team Mick’.

With the band’s production Crue having signed statements questioning Mars’ musicianship, and those statements having been released to the public, the leak below would seem most likely to come from that side of the fence.

There’s only one problem: Mick sounds pretty good here. So, who did the leaking?

Mars is seeking financial information from his maybe-former bandmates and has made a series of claims about the extent to which they use backing tapes.

He says he is the only member of the band playing completely live.
