FOUNDING Saint Vitus member Mark Adams has died after an extended battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Adams’ passing was announced on social media by guitarist Dave Chandler. He died aged 64 on May 23. As a key member of the 80s doom scene, Adams formed Saint Vitus in 1978, settling on the name in 1980. The band took off with 1986’s definitive Born Too Late, featuring Scott “Wino” Weinrich on vocals and enjoyed a solid cult status as a cornerstone of the worldwide doom scene that exists to this day. Due to his deteriorating health, Adams finally stepped down from Saint Vitus in 2016.
