LITA Ford says she has not given up on seminal seventies band The Runaways reforming.
Ford was interviewed late last week at Cancun Festival The Sands, at which her former band-mate in the pioneering all-female act Cherie Currie was also performing, She said the pair had not met up at that point and spoke about her differences with another Runaways alumni, Joan Jett.
But when asked on Sirius XM if she had given up on The Runaways one day reforming, Ford answered: “No. No I have not.”
Ford did not go into detail but agreed with host Eddie Trunk that a meeting with Jett had not gone well, partially a result of the “I Love Rock’n’Roll” star bringing her manager.
On Jett, she said: “I always like to say that Joan likes a different kind of music than I do so musically we don’t see eye-to-eye.”
Asked by an open line caller if she might work in future with Ozzy Osbourne, with whom she recorded “Close Your Eyes”, she said: “no – Sharon hates me” – in reference to Osbourne’s wife and manager Sharon Osbourne,
Ford is about to release an album with guitarist Gary Hoey.
