CLIFFORD Hoad, co-founder and drummer of Oz Rock heroes Kings Of The Sun, is in a critical condition after suffering a “massive heart attack” according to a post by his partner Lisa.

Writing on the Kings of the Sun – Clifford Hoad Facebook page, she said: “Clifford has suffered a massive heart attack today and is in intensive care in an induced coma in critical condition.

“I’m asking every one that loves him to please say a prayer for him tonight.”

Responding to a well-wisher, Lisa added: “Thank you Justin please say a prayer.”

The Gold Coast-based Hoad formed Kings Of The Sun with his brother Jeffrey in 1986, enjoying international success with songs like “Serpentine”, “Black Leather” and “Drop The Gun”.

More recently he revived the band without Jeffrey, releasing a mixture of new albums and material from the archives.
