TO ANYONE who saw him in the Van Halen board shorts performing with Foo Fighters and the great guitarist’s son Wolf at Wembley, it was obvious.
Josh Freese was always going to be Taylor Hawkins’ replacement as Foo Fighters’ drummer after his performance in the tribute concert for the skinsman, who died last year aged 50.
The world’s biggest rock band confirmed his appointment during a live stream over the weekend.
Most recently, Freese has been drumming with The Offspring but was replaced by Brandon Pertzborn one week ago.
His first show with Foo Fighters will be at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford tomorrow night (March 24).
There has been no cause of death for Hawkins, although toxicology reports founded 10 substances in his bloodstream including THC, tricyclic antidepressants, opioids and benzodiazepines.
