AUSSIE guitar hero Ian Moss has just wrapped up a tour of Britain, where he cancelled a Manchester gig after apparently being unhappy with the venue upon his arrival.

Some fans said they had already travelled into the northern England city for the June 9 show at Retro when Moss announced the gig was off and tickets would be refunded.

He reportedly went to soundcheck and then abruptly left.

“It is with deep regret that tonight’s show at Retro has been cancelled due to unforeseen production issues that were not made clear until load in late today and they will not allow us the chance to put on a show that we know our fans deserve,” Moss’ management said on Facebook.

In response to complaints from fans who had already travelled, management added: “We apologise again for the inconvenience caused and the delay in making the call on the show but we wanted to make sure we gave it every chance to work. In the end we couldn’t.”

It’s understood the PA system was not considered suitable for Moss’s first full-band tour of the UK, which received rave reviews elsewhere.

An upstairs concert space was offered to the Cold Chisel icon but he knocked that back, too, according to witnesses.

As of June 14, the venue’s facebook page still had not announced the cancellation.
