GUITARIST Harri Harrison has left Airbourne.
Fans of the Warnambool rockers began speculating on a line-up change when the Melbournian was missing from publicity photos for their upcoming US tour.
Now Harrison has confirmed via Instagram: “Just a quick note to let you all know that I am no longer in Airbourne.
“My five year tenure with the band created some great memories and most importantly lead me to cross paths with a whole heap of amazing people. It was a pleasure meeting fans in all corners of the globe and to work with such a killer crew of people both on and off the road – plenty who’ll be lifelong mates.
“Time to write a new chapter… I’m physically, mentally & musically fitter than I’ve ever been and have come out of the last couple of years of lockdown with A LOT of music. Will update on where that’s going soon.
“If you care enough to have read this far… Thank ya! I’ll start trying to be more active on here so you can see what I’m up to going forward.”
Harrison, real name Matthew Harrison, joined Airbourne from Palace Of The King, replacing David Roads.
Hot Metal was there in Camden London the day after a late night out with the O’Keeffe brothers cemented his friendship via a lost mobile phone.
We await an official announcement about Harrison’s replacement.
