NATIONAL treasures The Screaming Jets have signed former Finch lead singer Owen Orford as their new booking agent.

Orford’s New World Artists represents such notables as Grinspoon, Silverchair, Thy Art Is Murder and Spiderbait and has now added Newcastle’s finest to its roster.

Orford said in a statement the company was “thrilled to represent The Screaming Jets who, much like AC/DC, remain authentic to their genre and purpose, to deliver a power rock show crammed with anthemic crowd moments”

The band, now consisting of singer Dave Gleeson, guitarists Jimi Hocking and Scott Kingman and drummer Cam McGlinchey following the untimely death last year of songwriter and bassist Paul Wooseen, released the album Professional Misconduct in 2023.

“We’re really excited to begin this new chapter,” the members said in a joint statement.

Orford was the vocalist for seminal Aussie rockers Finch between 1972 and 1979, when he was joined in the band by The Angels’ Doc Neeson and AC/DC’s Mark Evans.
