GUITARIST Richie Sambora says a documentary on Bon Jovi could be the catalyst that drives him back to the venerated eighties band.
Sambora has been talking up a reunion with singer Jon Bon Jovi in recent months and in a recent interview cited a film being made about the band as a factor that makes that eventuality more likely.
“There’s a documentary that’s being done about the band and stuff that I’ve participated in, and people want to come see us play, and it’s going to make everybody happy,” 64-year-old Sambora told People magazine.
“I mean, essentially, that’s why you do it at this point.”
But it’s unclear if JBJ is returning Richie’s phone calls, literally or in the case of the smoke signals he’s sending via the media. Sambora said he had no idea when such a tour might occur although he thought next year would be perfect timing.
“It’s time to do it, though,” he added. “This is our 40th anniversary, but I feel younger than ever. I’m having a ball.
“People love to go back and hear the scrapbook of their lives. And somehow I’ve been a conduit to that very, very luckily and a lot of hard work too.”
Sambora gave no details of the documentary in question.
