DEF LEPPARD have confirmed the title of their 12th studio album, to be released on May 27, as Diamond Star Halos.
The Sheffield rockers recently installed a countdown clock on their website, while the title leaked out on American radio before being officially confirmed.
The megastars have also released a song from Diamond Star Halos, “Kick”, for streaming. You can hear it at the bottom of this post.
Diamond Star Halos is the first Def Leppard album since 2015’s eponymous offering and the title is a nod to T-Rex’s “Bang A Gong”.
Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott’s side project, the Down ‘N’ Outs, specialises in seventies rock and it seems likely that is where the new album will be angled musically.
A couple of guest performances have already been announced: Alison Krauss on “This Guitar” and “Lifeless” and Bowie pianist Mike Garson on “Goodbye for Good This Time” and “Angels (Can’t Help You Now).”
