MOTLEY Crue reportedly want their dispute with guitarist Mick Mars resolved behind closed doors.
Speaking to TMZ, lawyer Ed McPherson said: “This is yet another attempt by bullies to hide the truth!”
Motley’s lawyers say many of the companies formed by the band have mandatory arbitration clauses and therefore Mars is legally bound to take this route.
But the guitarist and his representatives are resisting. They want the issues between the parties aired in an open court.
According to the report, the band is also asking for several statements in Mars’ lawsuit – including allegations they play to backing tapes, substance abuse and violence – to be struck off as irrelevant.
Mars, 72, levelled the lawsuit because he claims he has been wrongfully dismissed and replaced by former Marilyn Manson axe slinger John 5.
Mars withdrew from touring due to a degenerative spinal condition. The band argues that since they sold their music catalogue, touring is the only thing Motley Crue does.
