IN August 1976, what would come to be known and loved as the “classic” Motörhead line up assembled in Manticore Studio in West London to rehearse.

During that time, a recording was made on a mobile studio owned by the Small Faces’ Ronnie Lane that was immediately lost to history. Almost 50 years on, the tapes have been recovered and restored for release as The Manticore Tapes, available as a single LP, CD or download, or a deluxe bookpack expansion that includes two vinyls and a live 7″. These are the first recordings of Lemmy, Philthy and Fast Eddie as they created one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all. Orders are available now for the release on June 27.

Check out the clip for Motorhead, from The Manticore Tapes.
