AUSSIE guitar hero Bob Spencer has quit Rose Tattoo.

The former Angels, Skyhooks and Finch axeman made the announcement on social media, making him the latest departure from Angry Anderson’s outfit after guitarist Dai Pritchard and drummer Jackie Barnes.

Bassist Mark Evans was also left out of the mid-year European tour only to be reinstated.

Spencer wrote: “Groovers, I’ve parted ways, on very good terms, with Rose Tattoo, as it’s time for me to pursue other things (while I’m still young). Some of these things solid, while some ideas still kinda nebulous.

“I sincerely hope that I brought something of value to the band during these last five years and enjoyment to those who showed us their enthusiasm by attending gigs. I very much appreciate your support.

“With gratitude to Angry’ Anderson and my Brothers in Groove, Paul Demarco, Mark Evans and Mick Arnold.

“May we all continue to have music in our lives for years to come.”

Rose Tattoo were recently confirmed for the Monsters Of Rock cruise next April. At the time of writing they had made no announcement via their official channels regarding Spencer.

It appears the band is devolving into what it has been for much of its history: a vehicle for sole original member Gary ‘Angry’ Anderson.
