IN such a crowded touring market, it was inevitable that some would be cancelled. And so it has turned out for the proposed Metal Forces tour featuring Anvil that was set for March.

Also slated to feature Ross the Boss, The Rods and Melbourne proto-metal revivalists Butterfly, all shows on the tour have now been canned, with social media posts suggesting the promoter had “run out of money”. The Rods’ Carl Canedy used Facebook to tell Australian fans they were looking for another promoter to help them make their way here.

Elsewhere, Knotfest sideshows were announced today, with Adelaide fans the big winners at the news that Pantera and Disturbed’s only shows outside the festival will be in their city. Pantera’s only headlining appearance in Australia will be at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on March 19, with King Parrot and Sydney sludge grinder Black Rheno. Disturbed will be appearing with Wage War at the same venue on March 17.

In other Knotfest sideshow news, Lamb of God will be with Brand Of Sacrifice at the Northcote Theatre in Melbourne (March 20) and Eatons Hill Hotel, Brisbane (March 25), Halestorm and Skindred will be at Liberty Music Hall in Sydney (March 20) and Brisbane’s Princess Theatre (March 25) with Reliqa in support, The HU will be at the Croxton in Melbourne (March 19)  and Liberty Theatre (March 25), and Asking Alexandria and Wage War will be at Max Watts in Melbourne (March 20) and The Triffid in Brisbane (March 26). Tickets for all shows will be available from February 6. Pre-sales are also available from the following links from February 2:
