TWO of the top-drawing bands at the upcoming Good Things touring festival have pulled the pin.
Hot on the tail of news the Park Waves carnival had been canned completely, The All-American Rejects and Knocked Loose have confirmed they will not be participating in Good Things, which hits Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane this weekend.
In both cases, however, the withdrawals were due to family emergencies and not anything on the business side of the festival.
In a statement, All American Rejects said: “Due to a sudden family loss, we won’t be able to make it to Australia as planned. This has been an incredibly difficult moment for us, and as much as it devastates us to miss such a great opportunity to reconnect with our Australian fans, family has to come first.”
Both bands had scheduled side shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Pop-punk and alternative rockers the AAR had not been to the country in 16 years.
Knocked Loose, a hardcore punk outfit, said: “Anyone familiar with this band knows we do not take cancelling shows lightly; but family will always come first. We are already planning our return and cannot wait to be back as soon as possible. Love you all.”
Stand Atlantic and Alpha Wolf have stepped into the breach.
