LEGENDARY Aerosmith are tonight heavily tipped to announce at tour which may well be their last.
For the last fortnight, the band’s logo along with the slogan “Peace Out” has been displayed at arenas across North America, who have also been posting about it on social media.
Intriguingly, “peace out” can mean “go on peace” or “see you later”.
There has also been a countdown on the band’s website, due to expire at at midnight Eastern Australian time.
Philadelphia, Boston and Kansas City are among the cities where the displays have appeared.
Guitarist Joe Perry told radio station 102.3 WBAB: “I don’t know if I’m not supposed to announce it or not, but we are gonna announce the tour, and it’s gonna start in September and will go into next year.
“And being one of the guys who votes on this kind of thing, it looks like we’re gonna do it.”
Aerosmith had to cancel part of a Las Vegas residency last year, apparently as a result of singer Steven Tyler relapsing into substance abuse.
Tyler is 75, Perry 72, bassist Tom Hamilton 71 and guitarist Brad Whitford 71. Drummer Joey Kramer, whose place in the band has been the subject of recent legal action, is 72.
