GREAT White have replaced singer Mitch Malloy with Andrew Freeman of the Last In Line.

Malloy, who once auditioned for Van Halen, said: “We have been headed in different directions over the past year”.

The “Rock Me” eighties favourites wasted no time in announcing Freeman, an industry veteran who has played guitar for The Offspring and also fronted a band of ex-BulletBoys members called Lies, Deceit and Treachery, as their new frontman.

“Andrew brings another vocal perspective, a different grit in his delivery,” lead guitarist Mark Kendall said in a press release.

“We’re so proud of our past. We’re humbled that our fans have stood by us for all these years – Andrew being here now is the next chapter. We couldn’t be more excited for fans to hear him sing the hits and help us continue to forge ahead.”

Previous singers with Great White are the iconic Jack Russell, who has his own version of the band now, and XYZ’s Terry Illous.

Freeman, who also sung for Lynch Mob, was quoted as saying: “I’m absolutely honoured to contribute to the Great White legacy. I’m fully aware of the history of this band and its brotherhood. Let’s rock.”

The new line-up, completed by Michael Lardie (guitar, keyboards), Audie Desbrow (drums) and Scott Snyder (bass), is due to make its debut at Grand Casino Hotel & Resort in Shawnee Oklahoma this weekend.

Malloy said of his relationship with his former band-mates: “Our brotherhood will always be there.

“I will see you all on the road SOON – I’m excited about new adventures ahead, especially with the Mitch Malloy VH Experience and my Acoustic Storytellers show.”
